Strange event that happen today at Bago Café (formerly known as Goose Lane Café); first it was a multiple table day and second we had our first “Challenge” of the New Year.
Because of the popularity of the Lunch Gang more and more people from outside the “Circle of Trust” are trying to wedge themselves in. Case in point, today there were more people than our table could fix so we needed to pull up another table. According to the Lunch Gang Organization Code LGOC-946132345: No Lunch Gang Member will be push onto another table. Any person or persons wishing to join the LG for lunch need to site elsewhere. The Bylaws need to be strictly enforced and all cost…”CIRLCE OF TRUST”.
With the New Year comes new challenges and today was no exception. Out of the blue, Bago yells out “Did you know that Blueberry Muffins are made with Apples instead of Blueberries?” Immediately the “Challenge Flag” was thrown. How could a “blueberry” muffin mix contain “apple” instead of blueberries…OUTRAGEOUS!
ManCave went to Google for evidence and OM actually called Muffin Company. ManCave found evidence from an article posted way back in 1987 supporting Bago’s claim. In the article, it describes how boxes the Muffin Mix is shipped to the little village of Misfat Al Abreyn on the slopes of Jebel Akhdar, where a guy in a tent (outsourcing) removes all the Blueberries from the boxes, replaces them with “Artificially Apple Flavored Monkey Parts” that were dipped in Blue Die. Everything is then shipped back and sold as “Blueberry Muffin Mix”. On the other hand, a representative for the Muffin Company let’s call him “Carl”. OM explained to Carl of the debate we we’re having over the Muffin Mix. Carl told OM those Blueberries in the Muffin Mix we’re never substituted with “Apples”. So OM asked, are they actually Blueberries in the mix? Carl said NO. He explained that to save cost they use confectionary Sugar with “Blue Die” rolled into very SMALL BALLS instead of the fruit. Carl also went on to say that he know of a company Bago’s located in the hills of Wyoming that uses Apples Dipped in Blue Die for there “Blueberry Muffins Mix”. He sent OM a picture of the box.
