Episode 07-24-2012 – They call it Stalking when I do it!

What started as a quiet lunch ended with a bang! Because of our popularity, the Lunch Gang from time-to-time, get very high powered visitors to sit down at our table in Bago Café (formerly known as the Goose Lane Café). Now mind you, just because these visitors sit down with us, we do not cut them any stack. So each visitor must be of the right mind set when they choose to join us. Today was no exception “The Man” sat down with us who had someone job shadowing him for the day. He introduced himself but for the life of me I can’t remember his name, so we’ll call him “The Shadow”. General conversations carry on throughout lunch as they always do, a little laugher, a little beat down of O-Canada, and for anyone who follows us on the Blog it’s just usual (or dysfunctional…not sure). When it was time to leave, “The Man” and “The Shadow” got up and everyone at the table wished “The Shadow” well and good luck with the job shadowing. Well, all but Mansel. Mansel delivered the best line we’ve ever heard come out of his pie hole, he tells “The Shadow” you know “They call it STALKING when I do it”…the entire Bago Café erupted with one of the loudest burst of laugher I’ve ever heard; “The Man” dam near lost his lunch right there!

ManCave gets trapped by Smoky Joe. Coach walks by ManCave’s cube several times and doesn’t rescue him. We learned from ManCave later in the day that Smoky Joe is afraid of T-Mobile. So to scare off Smoky Joe, the LG created a “Bilalive Button” for each of to wear keeping Smoky Joe from ever sitting in our cubes and talking to us!
ManCave tells Coach “Never leave me with him again, never!” Coach just laughed!

New discovery in Canada they have “running water”!
According to recent reports by O-Canada, “People here are so excited, there beside themselves”. To get running water in the house, you need to stand outside holding a bucket of some type and catch it. It’s Fun according to O-Canada.

Episode 07-20-2012 – ManCave Rides in Front

Yes, this was a red letter day for sure. ManCave got to ride in the front seat to-and-from lunch. The general consensus amongst the other Lunch Gang Members was “he better not get used to it”. Normally we throw him in the very back and nothing is said. But today, Smokes, OM, and Coach were felt a little generous so we allowed him to sit up front. For anyone interested, the Green Dot Stables in Detroit was OUTSTANDING!
//
The MOBILE RED FLAG was tossed today. Let me explain. The challenge came against ManCave “Mister Baseball” about the official Pitch Count of a Major League Pitcher. ManCave claims it includes “Bullpen” and “Between Inning” warm-up pitches. Coach threw the RED FLAG immediately (OM backed Coached).

Smokes, was cracking up about the “Names” the Lunch Gang give people in Cube City.

Episode 07-19-2012 – What a Day!!!

In today’s episode of “Load Testing with Mansel”, Mansel reports that Plumber Pete has liberated Stall 3! “Let the Load Testing Begin!” Reporting live Al Allen; “by 10am today it was standing room only. Stall 3 has been down for so long that some dudes were just walking in to blow off gas just to be a part of this celebration.”
Thanks Plumber Pete, you’re the best!

Liberation of Stall 3 Begins Today!!!

MANSEL has made the call to 31111!!!

He explained the situation to the call center rep:  “The toilet is leaking at the base of Stall 3.  The door is locked…”

To which the call center rep repeated the word “toilet” which could be heard quite clearly on MANSEL’s speaker phone .

It is on people…

THE RE-LIBERATION OF STALL 3 BEGINS TODAY!!!

Episode 07-18-2012 – The Pedigreed

History has a way of showing up at the right moments and today was no exception. OM revealed way back in the earlier 1800’s his family had a name change from Muller-bater to the current OM. Bago wanted to know if your grandfather was a master carpenter, did people call him Master Muller-bater? You just never know where Bago is going to go with these conversations…never.
The Falcon and O-Canada debated heritage as well. There is a little on whether or not coming to this country on an airplane really constitutes real pilgrimage or not. The Falcon’s people came here on the boat and landed at Ellis Island, where as O-Canada’s people flew here, landed in Buffalo, jumped on a boat to Windsor, and claim they made the pilgrimage to a new country. The “RED CHALLENGE FLAG” was thrown.
Thanks Mother-in-Law OM for the great Maltese Meat Pies (Pastizzi)…very good! The funny thing about it was, OM placed one on the table and cut it up 7 ways. When asked, “Your Mother-in-law only made one Pastizzi, his response was Yep. We all know what happen to the other 11, don’t we OM? O-Canada (claiming to be Maltese) used the “The Canadian Microwave” to heat up her Pastizzi…her arm pit (not right)!

//
Mansel was being IM’d from his bride Lansel, Who’s #10? Mansel’s response was “as long as he picks up the lease and mortgage payments who cares!” The table erupted! Then Mansel responded to another IM, He Signed What? Look at it this way, Mansel’s son Aansel now has a signed jersey (or we thing is was a jersey)!
//
The question of the day was, does Coach eat stuffing at Thanksgiving? We had a little fun with this one because of the no eating of gravy or wet bread of any type. The answer is yes! Enough said about this subject.

Episode 06-28-2012 – C-of-T Cracking

Have you ever seen a kid who’s done something wrong and they give you that look? Well it happen this day in Cube City. Certain members of the LG decided to make a run for Slurpee’s and neglected to invite other members. Of the eight (8) member of the LG, four (4) came walking into Cube City carrying Slurpee’s along with one (1) non-member, right in front of Coach. Man Rule #591283122 clearly states “You cannot offer to take a NON-Member(s) of the LG to a function without asking ALL LG Members if they’d like to attend first. Once Member(s) of the LG refuse, then and ONLY then can NON-Members attend said function”.
Coach sends out message to Members of the LG…”Circle of Trust is getting cracks in it”
OM: Now What?
Professor: Can we fix this with some duct tape?

Episode 6-12-2012 – The Bacon Sundae

Need I say more?
ManCave: Here it is…the Burger King Bacon Sundae…

OM: I need one of those!

Episode 6-04-2012 - Mansel wants the Sausage

Mansel to the LG:
“I am looking for a meat market with the ultimate selection of those Hunters-type sausages (pictured below). Byrd’s Meats in Livonia used to have a great selection….but they were bought out by Joe’s Produce….the new store doesn’t have as good of a selection. What are your recommendations?”

O-Canada: Mansel’s quest for Hunter-type sausage continues…

Bago: It’s sold all over Ontario I heard…next to the Cheese Ends.

Mansel: It does indeed. Going to check out a place in Redford on the way home today.

O-Canada: I’ll have to look for it.  I’ve never noticed the sausage…

ManCave: Add in those cheese ends and it becomes a real sausage-fest.

Coach: This conversation is just not right! Mansel, think of your kids…

Episode 6-01-2012 - Mansel Receives Cake

Pictures are worth a thousand words!

Episode 07-12-2012 – Brown Yogurt

Mansel: Everyone remind Vanessa to take her Brown Cow stuff when she leaves today.

O-Canada: Not my fault.  Aleksander loves this yogurt!

ManCave: If your kid (Al Dander) loves this yogurt, then why is it in MANSEL’s ‘fridge?  Was this a recent purchase in the USA?  It wasn’t mail ordered to my house.  I would’ve remembered that.

O-Canada: Yes it was.  I have to remember to take it home.  And no, I bought this in person, not by mail order.

Professor: Whose Aleksander? Max is going to be pretty mad that someone else took his yogurt!

Coach: Brown yogurt? Really O’Canada! Really!

O-Canada: It’s maple flavoured.

Falcon: If they made hockey pucks maple flavoured, there would be no national pastime either.

OM: I don’t think I want anything flavooouuured unless it is with a corn bi-product.

O-Canada: It’s flavoured with actual maple syrup… :P

Smokes: What about a Canadian Maple Flavoured Slurpee?

O-Canada: I’m in…  might need bacon though.

Episode 7-18-2012 – Second Hand Garlic

In ManCave’s absence, T-Mobile has become O-Canada’s newest best friend. Today, T-Mobile ended up at Yemen Bakery, grabbing lunch and brings it back to The Bago Café. Then it started like a U.S. Naval Ship firing shots at a enemy cruiser. Bago was relentless in his pursuit for happiness by slamming O-Canada every chance he got. I think she should not have commented on Bago’s broken shaft…Why was Mansel taking pictures of young boys playing? Bago commented on O-Canada’s hair during these hot days smelling like Prince Fielder; and I smell “Second Hand Garlic…who belched?” Mansel’s married and more than once a week for boom-boom is totally out of the question. Bago to O-Canada, please leave your food wrapped up and stop with the potatoes!
