Whenever someone talks about rough neighborhoods across America they refer to places like "The Southside of town" or "The East Side of town" and you shouldn't go into those places. Ever here someone say that? Well, here in Cube City we have such places and there known as "Garbage Hill", "Melvinanddale" and Ghettopolis. Each of these neighborhoods has a somewhat unavoidable repetition but The Lunch Gang call them home.
Garbage Hill was once a dump littered with smelly garbage has been redeveloped into an outdoor shopping oasis for those would be spenders. Melvinanddale is an old rail station town abandoned when the stagecoach stopped running, got rid of the rat population and built a few little strip malls with various stores each catering to the patrons taste. Then there's the really dark side of town, Ghettopolis (see picture below) where you only go during the day time and armed heavily.
Now that you have somewhat of a picture of Cube City, here's how the heading of "Subway Women and Juicy" came to be. On the backside of Garbage Hill there's a little Subway store tucked in the backroom of a gas station (the same room where T-Mobile buys his cell phones from). The owner, a 4 foot tall, heavy set Canadian that just absolutely adores ManCave. Whenever lunch gang members go into this store the owner (we'll call her Ed) takes out her step stool so she can see over the counter top to get a better look at ManCave. ManCave's sandwich always, and I mean always, has extra lunch meat on it and there's always a free cookie placed his bag without him even knowing about it.
The ole' rail town Melvinanddale also has a subway shop located in the middle of the strip mall where the lunch gang frequents more than the garbage hill subway. At Goose Lane Café today, ManCave was telling Glen-A-Bago about the other day when he and Coach ventured over to Melvinanddale to grad a quick sub and bowl of soup. As ManCave explained it the usual flair was ordered, 6" sub with a bowl of soup to go just like we always do, but this time ManCave yells out can you throw some crackers into my bag? One of the owners of this store an older lady (we'll call her Red), who dyes her hair red (a color red that's not found in any color charts that I'm aware of) grabs a large box of crackers and throws them up on the counter. She yells out "That will cost you $4000 dollars!" ManCave yells back "Sold!" The other store owner hearing all the commotion comes out from the back office to get a look… hearing what was going on George says "For $4000 dollars you can have her along with the crackers". The people in line waiting for there sandwiches started laughing. As new customers entered the store, Red was telling them "he (ManCave) just bought me for $4000 dollars". A few more laughs were exchanged then Coach and ManCave left the store.
OM arrives late today and just about everyone was done and gone back to the cube. ManCave, The Professor, Coach and OM had a little conversation about putting the final touches on OM’s very own Kegerator. When got on the subject of "Where we going for lunch tomorrow?" Jokingly we mentioned Gonella's over in Ghettopolis and OM got a smile from ear-to-ear (excited as a school girl – he was, wearing a purple shirt today) and he even said "I'll Drive!" The Professor, ManCave and Coach started laughing out loud. OM "what are you guys laughing at? We told him we knew he'd say that…LOL! Back in the summer of 2010 the Lunch Gang went inside the bowels of Ghettopolis for one of the Gonella's subs and there was a "new" mustache sub girl that worn those shorts with the word "Juicy" across the butt. OM was given preferential treatment that day because he wore his "purple shirt". You know the routine more meat, extra vegetables, and a cookie in the bag.
Now that you know the stories, the reason we named this episode "Subway Women and Juicy".
