Episode 5-17-2012 – The Vacuum Cleaner Mambo
I know the title is a bit weird but it has a real meaningful background here in cube city. But before we get into it, let’s look at the history of the Mambo.
The Mambo dance originated in Cuba where there were substantial settlements of Haitians. In the back country of Haiti, the "Mambo" is a voodoo priestess (it just happens that Alright, Alright Don calls his Vacuum Cleaner his “Voodoo Priestess…hum!), who serves the villagers as counselor, healer, exorcist, soothsayer, spiritual advisor, and organizer of public entertainment. The fusion of Swing and Cuban music produced this fascinating rhythm and in turn created a new sensational dance. The Mambo could not have been conceived earlier since up to that time, the Cuban and American Jazz were still not wedded.

A Lunch Gang version of the "Mambo" (now known as Vacuum Cleaner Mambo…or just VC Mambo for short) presented itself to several members of the Lunch Gang today by none other than ManCave himself. To the public, the dance looks like someone having a seizure; however the Lunch Gang believe that once it catches on (copyrighted pending) it will be taught at studios, resort hotels, Dancing With the Stars, and at night-clubs across the country. VC Mambo happy dancers soon will become known affectionately as "Mambonicks".
The VC Mambo craze is limited to advanced dancers. Speaking with Dance Director Napoleon Dynamite of the Arthur Murray Dance Studios agreed that the VC Mambo is one of the most difficult of dances to learn. However he continued “Most people treat VC Mambo as a very fast dance. In essence, it is a slow and precise dance that moves the hips in-and-out in a sexual matter while pushing a vacuum cleaner.”
